Huge surprise before Tyson Fury’s boxing comeback (34)!
The WBC heavyweight champion’s opponent for his return to the ring on December 3 has apparently been determined. After the cancellation of Anthony Joshua (32), Cologne’s Mahmoud Charr (38), who had long been traded as a substitute, will not play against Fury.
His opponent is called Dereck Chisora (38)!
Boxing promoter Frank Warren (70) on the online boxing portal “IFL TV”: “It ran for three or four weeks and we fought to find an opponent. Now we have the highest seeded opponent and that is Dereck Chisora on December 3.”
How did that happen?
Warren: “We always thought December’s fight was against Oleksader Usyk (IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO world champion, ed.) but he’s not available. Now I’m hoping that fight happens sometime in February. Tyson wants to box before that. We’ve been distracted by the Joshua situation the whole time. But Dereck will put up a bigger fight for Tyson.”

Negotiations with Joshua failed because of rights issues with broadcasters BT, ESPN and DAZN. As a result, rumors arose that Charr could play as a replacement opponent for Joshua against Fury.
Now everything is completely different!
For Fury and Chisora it is the third meeting after 2011 and 2014 – that’s why Fury calls the fight “trilogy”. In 2011, Fury won unanimously after twelve rounds, then in 2014 when Chisora gave up. According to Warren, the third fight will take place in Cardiff (Wales).
Interesting: After the second fight, the two heavyweights became friends – but they aren’t anymore. Fury resented Chisora for predicting a Wilder win over his (ex) buddy.
Even before the official signing of the contract, Fury sounds: “After his recent escapades, I hope he will. It’s a shame for him that I have to smash his teeth in hard when he signs the contract.”
