A general outage affected the Jean Coutu and Brunet pharmacies in Montreal for a good part of the morning on Wednesday.
Several branches in the city have confirmed to the QMI Agency that they have been forced to close the doors of their pharmacies, due to a breakdown that occurred around 8 a.m.

“We are having difficulty with the checkout system at Jean Coutu and Brunet pharmacies. Our teams are working very hard to resolve the situation as quickly as possible,” confirmed the group’s communications manager, Catherine Latendresse, in an email sent to QMI Agency in the morning.
Services were restored around 11:30 a.m.
The cause of the failure remains unknown, but the group confirms “that it is not a cyberattack”.
