The outbreak of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) continues to decline.
As of 00:00 on the 10th, the Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters announced that there were 42,747 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 23.97 million. The number of new confirmed cases on this day decreased by 26,663 from the previous day (69,410).
There are 42,487 new confirmed cases in Korea and 237 imported cases. Among the new confirmed cases in Korea, 19,246 (45.3%) were in the metropolitan area and 23,241 (54.7%) were in non-metropolitan areas.
From the 4th to today, the number of new confirmed cases in one week is 72,128 → 37,531 → 99,826 → 85,540 → 72,646 → 69,410 → 42,747.
The death toll from COVID-19 was 48, down 20 from the previous day. Among hospitalizations, the number of patients with severe serious illness increased by 21 to 525.
As of 5 p.m. the previous day, the total number of COVID-19 beds was 7597. The bed utilization rate was 31.5% for very severe beds, 41.8% for semi-severe beds, and 29.2% for moderate beds. The utilization rate of the life treatment center is 6.0%.
