The Home Office plans to cancel visas and deport foreign nationals or foreign students who support Hamas.
The Immigration Minister has directed officials to explore the possibility of measures, including visa cancellation, against individuals and communities who adopt anti-Semitic stances. The British government is preparing to take heavy action against such people considering the situation in which students and teachers in various universities have come forward in support of the Israeli attack by Hamas.
Foreign Minister Gérald Darmain warned yesterday that foreign citizens who take a pro-Hamas stance in France will be deported within three days. In this way, the visa of three people was canceled yesterday and sent back to their own country. Following this path, Britain is preparing to take heavy measures against Hamas supporters.
The current law allows those in Britain on visitor, work and student visas to cancel their visas at any time on grounds of national security. Action can be taken if it is found that their presence is not conducive to public welfare.
