British Prime Minister’s Surprise Visit to Ukraine Fight Putin and Endure Energy Crisis Comprehensive

A summit meeting with President Zelensky on Independence Day… Support for 2,000 drones
“It’s not the time to pursue a clumsy negotiation plan”… “Ukraine pays the price with blood”

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a surprise visit to the Ukrainian capital Kiiw on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of independence on the 24th (local time) and announced an additional military aid package.

He also said that the West must stand firm and endure an energy crisis against Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Prime Minister Johnson held a summit meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiiu and promised military assistance.

Today marks the 6th anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Office said it plans to provide a support package worth £54 million, including 2,000 drones and ammunition.

“Neither of us in the UK will give in for a second to the threats of Putin,” Johnson said at a joint press conference with President Zelensky, according to Archyde.com. .

“Britain will always be with Ukrainian friends,” he tweeted. “I believe that Ukraine can and will win this war.”

“Not all countries are lucky enough to have friends like this,” Zelensky said.

We are confident of victory,” he said.

Prime Minister Johnson praised the Ukrainians for their willingness to resist.

“The Ukrainians have a strong will to resist,” he said.

This is something Putin doesn’t understand.”

“The right to live peacefully and freely must be defended by oneself.

That’s why Ukraine can win.”

“If we’re paying high energy costs because of Putin, the Ukrainians are bleeding,” he said.

It is a difficult situation as the cost of living has increased due to the sharp rise in electricity and gas prices, but it means that we will persevere.

“This winter will be tough and Putin will manipulate Russia’s energy supply to harass European households,” he said.

“If Putin succeeds, no country around Russia will be safe,” he said.

He insisted that the West’s solidarity with Ukraine was growing, despite reports that European countries are dwindling as the world economy is struggling with rising energy prices.

The BBC points out, however, that it sounds like it’s admitting that it’s vulnerable to Russia’s indirect weapons because it’s not energy self-sufficient.

This is Johnson’s third visit to Ukraine since the war began in Ukraine.

On his last visit, he was awarded the Medal of Freedom.

Johnson’s term in office is less than two weeks away, but foreign minister Liz Truss and former Treasury Secretary Rishi Sunak have both promised continued support for Ukraine.
