“Broken down after 25 km”, “The engine made a funny noise…”, “There was an error message”…

The misadventure encountered by many motorists is reported by our colleagues from the voice of the North. Last week, many people broke down after filling up with diesel at the Leclerc gas pump in Bailleul. The testimonies are numerous. “I stopped Thursday morning at 8 a.m. to fill up at the Leclerc gas station. I broke down after twenty-five kilometers, ”says Pierre Eberle to our colleagues. “On the road, I heard the engine making a funny noise… then it choked. »

It was therefore impossible to continue on the road to his work. His car had to be towed. What was the problem? The answer is not yet known but the diagnosis is expected for the beginning of the week. And he is not the only one to have experienced such a misadventure. “We had a problem with a truck from my husband’s company,” says Cécile Chombart. The employees filled up Thursday in Bailleul to go to a construction site in Lambersart. On restart, the truck displayed an error message. »

Alexandre also saw his vehicle break down. “The mechanic found gasoline in my tank…”

The sign apologizes

Contacted by our colleagues, the management of the store responded to our requests by means of an email, without answering all their questions, in particular that of the number of people concerned. “Service station customers who bought diesel last weekend saw their vehicle break down,” she admits. The management immediately notified the station maintenance company, which intervened to carry out on-site checks and tests to verify the presence of water in the tanks: the results did not show the presence of water. However, additional samples have been taken and investigations are continuing. The problem is being identified. »

The affected pumps are closed. “The management of the service station has sent the files of the customers concerned to the insurance”, concludes the brand, which apologizes for “the inconvenience caused”.
