Dressed in a red shirt and dark jeans, the 74-year-old “Born to Run” musician returned to touring in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday after postponing his shows due to his bout with a peptic ulcer.
“Here at E Street, we are devastated that we have to postpone these concerts,” the “boss” of American rock said in a statement posted on his website and social media. “We will be back to do these concerts a little later. Thank you for your understanding and support. We’re having a great time at our shows in the US and we’re looking forward to more great times. We will be back soon,” he concluded.
Springsteen, known for his three-hour concerts with the E Street Band – the group that plays on his records and tours – recently performed three shows in his native New Jersey. They kicked off the 14-month 2016 River Tour from Tampa, Florida’s Amalie Arena in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 20,000 in February.
Springsteen looked paler than usual, with completely white hair.
Springsteen’s health problems first became apparent to his fans when his August 16 and 18 concerts in Philadelphia were canceled at the last minute, with the nature of his illness remaining unclear at the time.
Springsteen’s look has sparked a lot of comments on social media, with some noting that his changed image resembles actress Tilda Swindon.
