Glenn Gordon Caron and Bruce Willis have been friends for over 40 years. The creator of a hit series from the 1980s and the former Hollywood star still meet. In an interview with the New York Post, Caron now reveals how he supports Willis with his visits.
Glenn Gordon Caron is an old friend of Bruce Willis who knows him from the film industry. They filmed the series “Moonlighting” together in the 1980s – in German: “The Model and the Sniffer”.
Caron is in the «New York Post» commented on Willis’ health. He visits the former actor about once a month because the relationship is still very important to him. He recently visited him to tell him that “Moonlighting” could now be seen on the streaming service Hulu.
“I know it makes him happy that people can watch this series again – even if he can’t tell me that,” says Caron in the interview. «When I spent time with him, we talked about it. I know he thinks it’s great.”
“He experiences life in a fog”
Bruce Willis had to retire from the film industry in March 2022 because he is suffering from dementia.
“It took a while to bring the series to the streaming service, so I spoke to him a lot. “This was before his illness took away most of his ability to communicate,” the inventor of “Moonlighting” continues.
Willis was always full of life, waking up in the morning and wanting to make the most of the day until the last minute. “It is inconceivable that he now experiences life behind a pane of glass, in a fog.”
“Linguistic skills have been lost”
During his visits, Caron is sometimes not sure whether Willis still recognizes him: “I think he knows who I am in the first two or three minutes,” his friend reveals. “He hasn’t stopped talking completely, but he hardly does anymore. He was a passionate reader, but he no longer does that either. He’s lost his language skills, but he’s still Bruce.”
Glenn Gordon Caron still values his friend, but also has to admit: “When you’re with him, he’s still Bruce and you’re grateful that he’s still here – but his joy of life is gone.”
