Brussels Airport: passengers rebel after flight cancellation

Disgruntled passengers, stranded at the national airport since Wednesday, prevented this Thursday morning the passage to Pier B, which gives access to non-Schengen flights. The information has been confirmed by Brussels Airlines, which says the disruptions are limited for now.

This is a group of 200 travelers who were due to fly from Brussels to Cameroon on Wednesday“says airport spokeswoman Nathalie Pierard.”The plane encountered a technical problem over France and had to return to Brussels Airport. These people therefore had to spend the night at the airport.” According to Didier Lebbe de la CNE, “This is not the first time that there has been damage to these planes.“.

The police had to intervene. The airport is trying to calm the situation and is organizing shuttle buses for passengers scheduled on other non-Schengen flights. These being few in number, this limits the disturbances, affirms the airport. Some Tui flights are currently experiencing delays of around 30 minutes.

There is only one flight a day to Cameroon and this Thursday’s flight was already full, so the injured passengers could not board.
