The young boxer and gold medal winner at the Yaracuy 2023 National Games, Jonkeiber Molina Losada16 years old, almost lost his life after being brutally attacked by a group of young people on Av. “Don Valmore Rodríguez” in the city of Bachaquero, Zulia state.
The Valmorese athlete received a serious wound in the neck, near the jugular vein, by one of the attackers.
Witnesses to the event detailed that the altercation originated at approximately 5:30 in the morning on January 2, 2024, almost reaching the corner of Pollo Pinto street located in the Padilla sector, La Victoria parish.

They indicated that the boxer and his new partner were returning home in the company of Ricardo Quiroz (17) and his girlfriend, after celebrating the arrival of the New Year.
Likewise, they indicated that on the journey two individuals on board a bicycle intercepted Jonkeiber Molina Losada, for unknown reasons, causing a strong fight.
Molina tries to defend himself, but is cornered by another group of boys.
In the hail of blows, Molina is attacked in the right region of the neck with a penetrating sharp object, falling to the ground.
Ricardo Quiroz came to the defense of his friend, receiving two stab wounds; one at the level of the kidney and another near the lung.
Quiroz’s relatives indicated that the injuries did not cause serious problems to his health.
Both Jonkeiber Molina and Ricardo Quiroz were taken to the Darío Suárez Ocando Hospital to receive medical attention.
However, the boxer, due to his delicate health, is urgently referred to the Pedro García Clara Hospital in Ciudad Ojeda.
Regarding Molina’s health, it was learned that in the afternoon and evening hours of Tuesday he managed to react after the fatal attack.
“He is progressing well and is under medical observation,” reported his mother Karelis Losada.
Likewise, he assured that his son was not attacked in the fight that was recorded near Estrella de Oro Street.
So far, the identities of the attackers are unknown.
The police authorities will proceed with the investigations of this case that occurred one day before 2024.
