The victim was found with two shots in the abdomen next to his truck, a Ford Ranger, at the door of his cotton factory, located in Pini at 5,600, in that town in the western area of Greater Buenos Aires.

One of the neighbors who helped Villafañe reported that they heard detonations and a car that fled. “I went to help ‘Roli’ and I saw that she was on the floor, next to her truck. She was covering herself in the stomach, which was where they had hit her,” he said.

On the other hand, the victim’s son-in-law, who was the one who took him to the Trinidad de Ramos Mejía Clinic, said that he received a call from Villafañe in which he indicated that “one came and shot him without saying a word.”

Despite being transferred to the clinic as quickly as possible, Villafañe died of cardiorespiratory arrest.

Although there were several hypotheses about the event, the images captured by the security cameras revealed that it was an attempted robbery in which Villafañe defended himself by shooting.

The case is being investigated by the prosecutor Gabriela Disnan, who is part of the Functional Instruction Unit No. 5 of San Martín.

The car in which the criminals were traveling was found abandoned in the Ramos Mejía area without traces of blood.

In the afternoon, a demonstration by neighbors was held in front of the factory where the crime occurred. Julieta, one of the daughters of the deceased businessman, asked on the occasion that the murderers be found and justice be done.

“My dad was a laborer and lived to work. These shitty blacks (sic) killed him. Do justice please,” said the young woman between tears and with a lot of anger.

“He defended his factory, his family. He did not deserve what happened to him. He was always the defender of all of us, of any neighbor. He was the best dad in the world,” he added in dialogue with the channel TN.
