The Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) breaks a new record. It crossed the mark of 8,000 billion FCFA in capitalization of its stock market, at the close of its trading session on September 12, 2023, standing at 8,002.22 billion FCFA, an increase of 5.85 % since the start of 2023.
According to a press release from the Stock Exchange: “This new record consolidates the upward phase started by the market since 2021 and reflects the confidence of investors” and also reflects the resilience of our
businesses. In general, the stock market has been in an upward trend since 2021. its previous capitalization record was 7,500 billion FCFA, a milestone reached for the first time on
October 21, 2015.
