Berlin (ots) – For the first time, an authorized chronicle of the Buchinger Wilhelmi family is available. In an unprecedented range of detail and openness, both the family history and details about the origins of modern therapeutic fasting are given in an informative and entertaining way. Just in time for the holidays, a dedicated illustrated book will be published that provides previously unpublished insights.

Modern therapeutic fasting was initially used by Dr. Otto Buchinger had a shadowy existence. Not least thanks to years of scientific research by the Buchinger Wilhelmi family, it has become a part of modern lifestyle that is indispensable in everyday life and has its origins in all religions. It was not foreseeable that two of the most internationally recognized contact points for holistic fasting therapies would emerge in Überlingen (D) and Marbella (ES) from just one idea and a lot of perseverance.

The newly published coffee table book shows how this came about in an entertaining, informative way and with impressive pictures (photographed by Olaf Heine, among others): by Dr. Otto Buchinger’s formative life experiences right up to his friendship with the Nobel Prize winner for literature Mario Vargas Llosa, which extends to the present day. Today the company is run by the fourth generation.
