Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats in Kent has purchased 16.9 additional acres of agricultural land near its current site in Boughton Monchelsea. The expansion is designed to double on-site rescue capacity and house up to 160 goats by the spring of 2027.
According to the sanctuary, the newly acquired acreage spans 16.9 acres and sits immediately adjacent to the charity’s existing grounds.
An Expansion Rooted in Agriculture and Conservation
The newly purchased property has historically served agricultural purposes. With the acquisition complete, the sanctuary plans to transform the space into an expanded habitat that will allow it to rescue significantly more animals. Leadership at the organization emphasized the dual benefit the project holds for both the animals and the surrounding environment.
