Matthias Sammer (54) extends BVB!
As the club announced on Monday, Sammer will remain an external advisor until June 30, 2025. The master trainer from 2002 will forgo salary. At least that’s what the joint press release says.
The report states: “At the request of both sides, Sammer’s new contract takes into account the corona pandemic and its immense economic impact on professional football.”
Accordingly, the TV expert will probably forgo part of his salary. So far he has earned over 500,000 euros per year for his consulting services.
Sammer is quoted as follows: “The situation in the midst of a global pandemic is challenging. We haven’t finished our task yet, we have a lot planned for BVB. Now let’s do it.”
Sammer has been a consultant at BVB since 2018. He works closely with the club management, provides Hans-Joachim Watzke (62) and Co. with sporting analyzes and also advises on transfer and strategy issues.
