The Cali authorities confirmed that an urban music singer would be the alleged person responsible for a series of thefts that had plagued the community in several money transfer and betting establishments in the capital of Valle del Cauca.
According to the authorities, the events that occurred precisely in the east of the city, would have been carried out by a musical artist, who, apparently, took advantage of the moments when there were no customers in the establishments to steal from them.

The modus operandi of those accused was that they arrived at the place they had previously targeted and with sharp weapons and even firearms, they intimidated the employees of the commercial establishments to steal calmly, together with their accomplice, who was also caught.
For his part, Colonel Carlos Germán Oviedo Lamprea, commander of the Cali Police, assured that the singer and his accomplice are responsible for at least 9 thefts from different spaces.
“They are responsible for at least nine thefts, especially from money transfer and betting establishments, and their place of action was commune 14 of Cali, where we discovered their criminal activity after three months of investigation by the criminal investigation section,” he stated. Colonel Oviedo.
On the other hand, in the middle of the investigation, they revealed that both named subjects changed their residence regularly, so that they were not discovered. However, the capture of the urban music artist and his henchman occurred in the Puertas del Sol and San Marcos neighborhoods, in the east of the city.
Another piece of information, no less important, stated that the subjects were known as alias El Cantante and alias El Chiqui, and the musician was the one who, apparently, acted as the leader of a small organization dedicated to theft.
Both had arrest warrants for theft crimes and had records for criminal acts from the years 2022 and 2023.
Also, the head of security for the money transfer establishments, Juan José Rojas, explained that they had been tracking these criminals for four months, since several of their victims had been people from the same company.
“They have been working for four months, and for that reason those arrest warrants were issued, unfortunately, they had been committing these crimes. His victims, unfortunately, were salespeople of the business group. These people, unfortunately, when they carried out their sales activity, committed the robberies,” said security chief Rojas.

According to the Cali Police, with the robbery of those nine establishments, the criminals would have stolen a total of 10 million pesos and thanks to the videos from the security cameras shared by people, they were able to begin to track them down to find with his whereabouts.
