Here is an opportunity not to be missed for young Innu aged between 12 and 17 who secretly cherish the dream of becoming an actor. Avenida Productions is looking for a young actor with or without experience to play the role of Mathis, a 14-year-old Aboriginal boy.

The project for the “Romy and the Beluga” series is still in its infancy, but Avenida productions already wants to find the actors to play in it and to shoot a demo. The shooting date of the latter is not yet known, but it should take place in Tadoussac.

The children’s series will talk about the environment and marine mammals and will take place in the universe of the Center for the Interpretation of Marine Mammals, since the father of the main character, Romy, will be the director of the Center.

Actor Xavier Huard, who has often worked in Aboriginal communities on the North Shore, knows that there is a lot of talent in the region and insists on the fact that participating in this kind of audition, where no experience is required, can really be the chance of a lifetime when you want to become an actor.

“It’s a real opportunity for these young people who have an interest in the game, they can really be discovered, there are few actors of that age, in fact, we don’t know them. This is a great opportunity for them to make themselves known! “.

He cites the example of Gaby Jourdain, a young Innu actress from the Uashat mak Mani-utenam community, who played in the film Jules au pays d’Asha. The young girl had auditioned in her community, during the passage of a casting team in search of young talents.

Do you want to try your luck? Just send your audition video to the production before September 1st. For more information, you can contact actor Xavier Huard by email [email protected] or by phone at 514 814-7825
