Canada through the IMF will allocate a loan of $ 1.78 billion to Ukraine in 2023

The Canadian government is going to provide Ukraine with a loan of 2.4 billion Canadian dollars ($1.78 billion). The money will be provided through the International Monetary Fund (IMF), follows from the draft federal budget for the next fiscal year (starts April 1 – «U»). It is reported by the Canadian CBC News.

The funds will be used to provide basic services for the citizens of Ukraine, the document says. Canada also plans to transfer 115 million Canadian dollars (about $84.5 million) in gratuitous financial assistance to Ukraine for the repair of Kyiv’s energy infrastructure. In addition, Canada will provide 200 million Canadian dollars ($147 million) in military assistance, including the transfer of eight Leopard 2 battle tanks.

Last week, Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand announced that Canada had transferred Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
