Canon has announced the launch of four new professional camcorders as part of the XA series: the compact and lightweight XA65 and XA60, and the high image quality XA75 and XA70.

Canon XA series professional camcorders provide the high image quality and mobility needed for on-site video shooting for broadcast, journalism, documentaries and event shooting.

The newly announced XA75 and XA70 inherit the high performance of their predecessors while adding new support for UVC or USB video class communication protocols that enable video transmission over USB connections. This new feature makes the camera better suited for use in increasingly popular fields such as live broadcasting, low-budget filmmaking and content production.

The XA75 and XA70 have a 1″ CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV 6 image processor. Equipped with a 4K compatible 15x optical zoom lens with a wide-angle end of approx.25.5mm to a telephoto end of approx.382.5mm, it supports high-quality 4K video recording at 30 frames per second over the entire zoom range.

Thanks to Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, the XA75 / XA70 has autofocus and subject tracking while shooting. Even when shooting in 4K, you can focus quickly and accurately with intuitive touchpad operations.

On the other hand, the “XA65” and “XA60” are equipped with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor, a “DIGIC DV 6” image processing engine, and a 4K compatible 20x optical zoom lens, achieving a compact and lightweight body. It weighs about 750 grams. .

Supports 4K shooting at 30fps over the entire zoom range, from about 29.3mm at the wide angle to about 601mm at the telephoto end. Additionally, data from the 4K sensor can be used to over-process HD to record Full HD 60fps video.

These new cameras are the first in Canon’s XA series to support UVC, enabling HD streaming via a single Type-C cable. They are also equipped with a large, bright 3.5-inch 2.76-megapixel touchscreen LCD and 36-inch 1.77-megapixel 1.77-megapixel The tilt improves visibility when shooting outdoors. There is also a digital zoom function that extends the zoom range, and an on-screen “text overlay” display function that overlays information such as the date and time code on the captured video.
