Not too long ago, we learned that Capcom warned that the minimum system requirements for the PC version of Resident Evil 2 would be updated to include a graphics update coming “soon”, a sign that the release is indeed on the horizon.

And tonight, Capcom also updated the requirements for Resident Evil 3 and 7 on Steam. The new specs below are identical for all three games.

Operating system:

  • Old requirements: Windows 7, 8.1, 10 (64 bit)
  • New requirements: Windows 10 (64 bit)

DirectX

  • Old Requirements: Version 11
  • New Requirements: Version 12

Video cards

  • Old requirements: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R7 260x
  • New requirements: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 460

At this time, Capcom has not revealed what changes will be made to the PC versions of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 after the release of the update. However, we do know that on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, these three games will get ray tracing, higher frame rates and 3D audio, as well as haptic feedback and Dualsense adaptive triggers.

At the moment, the Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 updates don’t yet have an official release date, but it’s safe to assume that a launch is indeed imminent, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it happens at the Capcom Showcase 2022, which goes live at midnight on 13 on June 14th.
