Carhartt Opens New Store at Lansing Eastwood Towne Center

Lansing’s retail options along the Lake Lansing Road corridor grew with the official opening of a new Carhartt store inside the Eastwood Towne Center. The location officially opened its doors on Thursday, October 22, bringing the historic workwear brand’s fifth brick-and-mortar storefront to its home state of Michigan.

Situated within the bustling Eastwood shopping complex, the new Lansing branch features prominent exterior signage alongside a large mural that highlights the company’s deep ties to the region. The artwork prominently displays the phrase “Carhartt Has Deep Michigan Roots,” nodding to the brand’s long-standing history in the Mitten State.

Founded in Detroit back in 1889, Carhartt originally built its reputation by manufacturing durable bib overalls designed specifically for railroad workers. Over the decades, the company expanded its catalog significantly, evolving into a widely recognized staple for both heavy-duty workwear and everyday casual apparel.

While the brand maintains its corporate headquarters in Dearborn, its retail footprint has grown to encompass 68 locations across the United States. Within Michigan, the Eastwood Towne Center shop joins an existing network of four other retail outlets, which includes a single location in Grand Rapids and three stores in Detroit.

For shoppers looking to browse the inventory in person, the newly opened Lansing storefront operates on a regular weekly schedule. Doors are open to the public from Monday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m., and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The arrival of Carhartt adds to a wave of commercial development along the busy Lake Lansing corridor. Recent months have also seen the additions of new Chick-fil-A and ALDI locations nearby, further transforming the retail activity in the area.
