Carmelo Valencia put an end to his career: he wanted to retire at a big club like Junior | Colombian Soccer | betplay league

Junior de Barranquilla finished his participation in the BetPlay League and after not reaping any title, he began to move players out, where Carmelo Valencia was one of those who ended his stay in the shark club.

Regarding the departure of the famous Carmelo Valencia, the player admitted in the Junior Play program that he had offers to continue playing professional soccer, but he preferred to reject them, because he believes that he has reached his limit as an active soccer player.

I had in my mind to retire in Junior. I started my career at Nacional, one of the country’s greats, and I wanted to retire at another great one, like Junior. It gives me pride and happiness. I had other offers to continue, but I think it’s time to stop, it’s been almost 20 years playing at an important level. I think it’s important to leave the image you want, otherwise it can go wrong,” admitted Carmelo Valencia.

With a possible retirement, ‘Tutunendo’ was asked what his life would be like without playing professional football, flatly ruling out being a technical director and it is still not clear what he will do after finishing his career.

“There is not the slightest possibility that he will be a coach, it is a strong position, managing heads and egos is very complicated. I would not bear that. I have no character for it,” said Carmelo Valencia, denying him the opportunity for this position.

Carmelo Valencia’s performance in Junior played 121 games, scoring just 21 goals, a fairly irregular average after spending three years at the shark club.
