Due to the above, La Moneda offered residence and Chilean nationality to expatriates from Nicaragua, something that was not to the liking of the communist party, as Carmona admitted.
In interview with Canal 13, The leader recognized differences, not only with the President, but with the other parties in the coalition, assuring, yes, that one must learn to live with these nuances.
“I normalize in this and in other things, the differences that it could have, I cannot say ‘since I am the Government I am of an absolute coincidence’. I am talking about the parties and not about those who have government tasks, which is very different, ”he explained.
“Whoever has government tasks and feels that they are violated, has a legitimate option of conscience to do something else, in this case it is the party,” he said.
However, he valued the offer to give Nicaraguan expatriates nationality, assuring that it is a republican tradition, recalling part of the stanza of the National Anthem that says “asylum against oppression.”
