Early this Monday, January 1, Carrie Bernans was brutally run over in the streets of New York City less than two hours after celebrating New Year’s with her friends.
The Marvel actress’s mother explained on Instagram that her daughter was at a food stand when a car crashed into the place, causing multiple injuries, fractures and broken teeth.
“Please keep Carrie in your thoughts and prayers. She is suffering a lot, but she is healing (…) She has some broken bones, fractures and chipped teeth, but thank God that she is alive,” he shared last Monday.

The message from Carrie’s mother was accompanied by several photographs that reveal the severe injuries she suffered, for which she had to undergo emergency surgery.
Despite the serious accident, the ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ actress has tried to stay active on social networks, where she has expressed her concern about not being able to walk.
In addition, she has indicated that, still anesthetized by the operation she underwent, she has been expressing milk to feed her seven-month-old son, who was not with her at the time of the accident.

“I have been a little absent for a while, taking care of my baby, who is now in charge of my sister and my family, I just wanted to thank you for your prayers and messages,” he shared on January 2.

According to a TMZ report, Carrie Bernans was with a friend walking through the streets of New York when she stopped at a fast food truck.
Around 1:40 am on Monday, January 1, 2024, Eastern Time, an approximately 44-year-old driver crashed between West 34th Street and Ninth Avenue, causing severe injuries to nine people, including the actress.
The ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ actress had to undergo emergency surgery. So far there is no certainty about her mobility in her legs.

After the impact, Carrie Bernans lost consciousness and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where doctors managed to stabilize her, but they have not been able to determine whether her lack of mobility in her legs would be temporary or permanent.
The American news site points out that prior to the interpreter’s accident, a group of police officers were chasing the 44-year-old man for a previous incident.
