Casalco projects 15% growth in the construction industry by 2024 2024-04-10 17:09:47

The president of the Salvadoran Chamber of the Construction Industry (Casalco), José Antonio Velásquez, projects that by 2024, the growth of the sector will be able to obtain results equal to or greater than those registered in 2023, estimating that in the school year there will be an increase of 15%.

“Right now we are reviewing our data, because the last one we had reflected 13.5%, but it may be that we have grown more (in 2023) and it means that this year’s growth should be the same or higher,” said Velásquez.

The industry has also contributed to job creation by hiring approximately 120,000 positions. In addition, he highlighted that private investment remains between $600 and $700 million, while public investment is around $1.3 billion.

“That there is greater public investment is good, because it is what drives the development of private investment and provides us with the necessary infrastructure to be able to build the projects,” he added.
