“Centre-Val de Loire’s International Investment Success: 3,500 Jobs Created or Maintained”

2023-04-24 02:13:39

With a seventh rank at the national level for international investments, the Centre-Val de Loire recorded its best result. An exceptional record, with 70 projects to create or extend existing sites, representing more than 3,500 jobs created or maintained in the region according to the study carried out by Dev’Up, the regional economic development agency, and Business France.

Several factors explain this jump in foreign investment. “Many investments planned for 2020 were postponed to 2021, then to 2022. It was really in 2022 that everything resumed“says Caroline Ducroq, head of studies at Dev’Up. “Production has started again, short-time working has stopped. It is the confluence of many events. And then there was the France Relance plan, which greatly helped companies regain confidence. There is also an economic recovery, we must not hide it.

The Loiret, industrial locomotive

As in previous years, Loiret occupies by far the first place on the podium for foreign investment in our region, ahead of Indre-et-Loire and Eure-et-Loir. With 26 projects (12 for Indre-et-Loire) in 2022, the Loiret concentrates nearly 64% of the jobs maintained or created In the region. This can be explained by industrial projects with a strong need for labour: John Deere in Ormes which is launching into electric batteries (140 jobs), the new Alloga platform in Meung-sur-Loire (200 jobs), the Duralex plant taken over by a British company (250 jobs maintained). The industrial sector attracts more than half of foreign investment in the Centre-Val de Loire.
