Cesar Cueto’s career
The popular ‘Poeta de la Zurda’ debuted with Lima Alliance in 1969, a club with which he won three national titles. With the Peruvian National Team he played in the World Cups in Argentina 1978 and Spain 1982, in addition to being part of the squad that was champion of the 1975 Copa América.
Abroad, he defended the jerseys of Atlético Nacional, América de Cali, Deportivo Pereira and Cúcuta Deportivo. With the ‘Red Devils’ he was champion of the Colombian League in 1985.
Keep in mind that Cesar Cueto he won the Copa América in 1975. Despite not playing in the qualifying round for the 1978 World Cup, he was considered to play in the maximum competition. Adding his participation in Spain to 82, he played nine matches in the World Cups.
