The second win on the road this season will have to wait for CF Montreal as they suffered a 0-0 draw against Charlotte FC at the gigantic Bank of America Stadium on Saturday night.

CF Montreal goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois held on for his team during the game. The Quebecer redirected the 13 balls in his direction. The 21-year-old goalkeeper has not given in to the opponent in his last three meetings.

Charlotte FC are currently going through more difficult times as they have not been victorious in their last five games suffering two defeats as well as three draws.

As for the Quebec representatives, they now have an 8-9-3 record, which places them eighth in the Eastern Conference.

CF Montreal had triumphed twice last year against their Saturday opponent who entered Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2022.

The Montrealers now have a record of (1-8-2) on opposing lawns this season.

Head coach Hernan Losada said he was very happy that his team picked up a point on the road.

“All the players did a great job offensively and defensively and especially in the first half. I think it’s an important point because looking at the distance in the standings with a team like Charlotte who won’t stay behind us and it’s important to win points away from home. Despite everything, there are positive points and points to improve”, underlined Hernan Losada in a press conference after the meeting.

The locals were very threatening at the start of the game. Winger Enzo Copetti was left alone at the mouth of the net, but he was frustrated by Sirois who made a superb save.

The Montreal XI’s best chance to score came in the 13th minute of play. Bryce Duke made a superb pass towards Sunusi Ibrahim, but Charlotte’s goalkeeper, Kristijan Kahlina, didn’t want to give anything to the opponent.

Montreal then had a free kick on the edge of the penalty area early in the second half, but Gabriele Cordo was unable to hit the target.

Head coach Hernan Losada’s men will be back in action in a week and will host a visit from New York City FC.
