The opening of the legislative year 2023 presents a historic presidential succession line: the first three positions are occupied by women, and by chance? the three chose to dress with the designer Cynthia Martos.
Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, Vice President of the Nation, with a pale pink outfit; Claudia Ledesma de Abdala, provisional president of the Senate, in a tight lilac dress; and Cecilia Moreau, president of the National Chamber of Deputies, dressed in lavender gray. The three are located on the Senate platform, and accompany the President of the Nation, Alberto Fernández in his annual address to the parliamentary plenary session.
So, Can we talk about coincidence, trends, fashion?
Never. Mediating the figure of Cristina Kirchner in this triad, nothing can be left to chance. That the members of the presidential line of succession present themselves in the same color palette communicates that the women share the same factual and symbolic universe and the three speak the same language.
The choice in lilac and pink tones inevitably refer to the feminine universe. The chosen textures are simple, according to the prevailing temperature in the mercury thermometer; and in the street, which requires a gesture of moderation on the part of politics.

Energetic and questioning: The three leaders also share the exercise of doing politics in a world that until a few years ago belonged to men. All three share or have shared a passion for politics with their partners. Cristina Fernández with Néstor Kirchner, Claudia Ledesma with the governor of Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamora and Cecilia Moreau who shared years as a couple, militancy and a daughter in common with the radical leader Leandro Santoro.
It is not the first time that Cristina Fernández de Kirchner wears creations by Martos. She could be seen in Chaco with a tuxedo-style lapel suit in a high-impact palette: pinks, fuchsias, violets and the YPF act wearing a jacket and blouse in the national colors.
Cecilia Moreau chose Cynthia Martos in various presentations, such as the assumption of Sergio Massa as “super minister” of the Economy.
Cynthia Martos is the favorite of the first lady, Fabiola Yáñez, who used her designs before, during and after her pregnancy of his son, Francisco Fernández Yáñez. Fabiola Yáñez usually chooses classic line dresses, Jackie style and suits with short jackets in nude tones.
The designer from Bariloche is the favorite of actresses such as Julieta Ortega, Florencia Peña, Carla Conte, Nancy Duplá, Claudia Fontán and Andrea Rincón – all K-edged figures, with public sympathy for Cristina Kirchner.

However, Martos insists that there is no crack in his atelier. It is visited by figures of all political stripes; Bárbara Diez, -former wife of the Head of Government of the City, Horacio Rodriguez Larreta-, entrusted her with the costumes for the Netflix series in which she recounts her life as wedding planner.
The designs for the Legislative Assembly said their thing. In an election year, women are attentive, united and prepared to assume greater commitments. And that, -in these instances- is quite a statement.
