CGEM Completes Governance Bodies and Mobilizes for Economic Challenges

The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) is taking action by completing its governance bodies. Its president, Chakib Alj, calls for the mobilization of the administrators of the CGEM and their ability to work in synergy in order to contribute effectively to meeting the current economic challenges.

The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) held its first Board of Directors for the 2023-2026 term, under the chairmanship of Chakib Alj. The opportunity to complete the governing bodies of the confederation. Thus, the list of 18 permanent commissions under this mandate was voted, in addition to the resolution appointing the presidents of the said commissions and of MeM, 13th region of the CGEM.

During this first meeting, Chakib Alj appealed to the mobilization of the directors of the CGEM and their ability to work in synergy to contribute effectively to meeting the current economic challenges. Among them, there is in particular “the acceleration of the pace of private investment which must reach 2/3 against 1/3 for public investment”, notes the head of the employers’ association.

To achieve this objective, the president of the CGEM assured that his organization has been able to identify the levers to be activated, particularly in terms of financing, human capital and research and development. “Let’s get to work now to advance our respective issues and achieve our common ambition of building a competitive, green, inclusive and innovative Moroccan economy. It is our duty,” he urged. The Board meeting was also an opportunity to appoint vacant director positions.

Thus, Leila Doukkali, president of the AFEM, and Amina Figuigui, president of the Club of Women Business Administrators in Morocco, have joined the bodies of the CGEM. It should also be noted that the co-founder of Chari.ma, Sophia Alj, was elected administrator member of the Board of Directors of the CGEM, from a list of women leaders. The Council also approved the appointment to the functions of Vice-Presidents, Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer. Thus, the new office of the CGEM is formed as follows: Chakib Alj, president, Mehdi Tazi, general vice-president, Said El Hadi, vice-president, Mohamed Fikrat, vice-president, Ghita Lahlou, vice-president, Mia Lahlou Filali, vice-president, Hakim Marrakchi, vice-president, Lotfi Sekkat, vice-president, Saadia Slaoui Bennani, vice-president, Nouzha Taariji Marrakchi, treasurer and Abdou Diop, assistant treasurer. Finally, the Board proceeded to appoint the members of the Statutes Committee. The latter will be chaired by Youssef Alaoui, who will have Driss Boutti, Mohammed Fikrat, Ali Harti, Chadia Jazouli, Karim Mouttaki and Omar Tajmouati as assessors. The Mandates Committee will be chaired by Chakib Alj. He will be accompanied by Mehdi Tazi, Abdelkader Alaoui, Abdelkader Boukhriss, Rachid Idrissi Kaitouni, Bouthayna Iraqui Houssaîni, Lhoussaine Naceiri and Saadia Slaoui Bennani.
