Cha Ye-ryun School Violence Allegations: YouTuber Calls for Fact-Check on Lotte World Field Trip

Actor Cha Ye-ryeon is at the center of a school-violence allegation storm after a former entertainment-reporter YouTuber demanded a fact-check on one telling detail — whether her middle school actually took a field trip to Lotte World — while her agency, HB Entertainment, has twice denied the claims and vowed legal action against what it calls malicious falsehoods.

Here is the kicker: the entire case currently rests on a single verifiable artifact. OSEN reported that Lee Jin-ho, the YouTuber behind the viral video posted November 4, said the only hard evidence made public so far is the 2001 Junggye Middle School graduation yearbook. Everything else — the classroom bullying, the bathroom incidents, the borrowed gym clothes and textbooks never returned — traces back to one anonymous post on the Nate Pann community that appeared October 29 and has since been placed under temporary restriction.

Accusations Spark Legal Threats Against Family

  • An anonymous Nate Pann post from October 29 accused a Junggye Middle School alumna, identified online as Cha Ye-ryeon, of sustained school violence; HB Entertainment has twice called it “factually groundless.”
  • The YouTuber Lee Jin-ho argues the decisive question is whether Junggye Middle School really went to Lotte World on the field trip named in the post — a detail that could be confirmed or demolished with school records.
  • HB Entertainment has warned of legal action as the backlash spilled onto Cha’s husband, actor Joo Sang-wook, and her underage daughter, forcing her YouTube channel to disable comments.

The Lotte World Field Trip Becomes the Fact-Check Battleground

The allegation that turned heads is oddly specific. According to the Nate Pann post as OSEN described it, on the day of the Lotte World field trip the accused arrived in a suit and high heels, and when teachers ran a dress-code check she allegedly tried to swap her shoes for the writer’s sneakers. When the writer refused, the post claims, she shouted and hurled profanity.

Lee Jin-ho zeroed in on that passage. “Whether Junggye Middle School actually went to Lotte World on that field trip is the crux,” he said in his November 4 video. Because the writer named the location explicitly and described the scene in concrete detail, he argued, confirming whether the school really traveled there is the fastest way to test the post’s credibility. He added that he had pursued the story himself but had secured no meaningful informants or information by broadcast time.

But the math tells a different story. Lee Jin-ho noted that the original writer had promised to release classmates’ testimony and additional evidence if the accused denied the claims — and since Cha’s side has denied them, he urged the writer to publish those promised materials, through his own channel, other media, or Nate Pann itself.

HB Entertainment Draws a Legal Line in the Sand

The agency’s response has hardened with each wave. Dispatch reported that HB Entertainment told the outlet on November 4 that unverified claims and speculation were being repeatedly spread, and that the damage had reached Cha’s underage daughter and Joo Sang-wook. The agency said it would gather evidence thoroughly, complete a legal review, and respond responsibly to malicious false-information and personal attacks.

Seoul Shinmun added that online commenters were demanding Joo Sang-wook explain whether he knew about his wife’s alleged past, and that Cha’s YouTube channel has suspended comments. HB’s statement, as carried across outlets, frames the situation this way: “We ask that the damage from the spread of falsehoods not grow any further, and we will take strong measures.”

The original Nate Pann post is currently under a temporary access restriction, which Sports Kyunghyang explained can happen when a party claims defamation or privacy invasion and requests a block.

The Golf Course Allegation Nobody Can Verify

A second, separate claim surfaced this week. On November 3, the YouTube channel Baek Eun-young’s Golden Time posted a video in which someone claiming to have been a golf-course caddie in 2012–2013 alleged that Cha treated her rudely during a round — using informal speech, showing irritation, then switching to a bright tone when a phone call came in from someone she called “director.” Sports Kyunghyang noted that whether the writer actually worked as a caddie then, or whether the incident happened at all, has not been established. Baek Eun-young herself cautioned that one-sided claims alone cannot settle the facts — and that if the allegations are false, Cha herself becomes a victim.

One Yearbook, Two Denials, and an Open Question

Date Development Source

October 30 HB Entertainment first denies the allegation as “factually groundless” after direct confirmation with the actor Seoul Shinmun

The timeline shows a story moving faster than its evidence. The anonymous writer, the only person who knows whether the Lotte World trip happened as described, has not come forward with the corroborating classmates promised in the original post. The agency says it has nothing more to add beyond its public statement. And the one checkable fact — the field trip destination — remains unverified.

So the question stays open, and it is a plain one: who can confirm whether Junggye Middle School’s class of 2001 ever set foot in Lotte World — and will the anonymous accuser produce the evidence it promised?
