Mursch-Edlmayr: “The pharmacists’ demands are now being implemented.”

Vienna (OTS) The Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists welcomes the decision by the Ministry of Health and pharmaceutical wholesalers to create raw material stocks with important medicines. “This gives pharmacists a useful tool to efficiently counteract certain medication supply bottlenecks. We are pleased that our demand is now being implemented,” explains Pharmacist Chamber President Ulrike Mursch-Edlmayr. Pharmacists are trained to produce certain medicines themselves (“magistral”) in the pharmacy’s own laboratory. The prerequisite for this is that the necessary raw materials are available.

“It is now the turn of social insurance to implement the inflation-compliant adjustment of production costs that was promised to the pharmacists,” adds Mursch-Edlmayr.
