“The barometric low forming tomorrow in the Central Mediterranean has been named Dorothea by the Central Mediterranean Group of Eumetnet. This system will begin to affect our country from Thursday afternoon and especially on Friday with rains, storms and stormy southerlies. However, the temperature doesn’t seem to change significantly”, says Mr. Kolidas in his post.

According to Sakis Arnautoglou on ERT, after noon on Thursday (29/02) rains are expected in Western Greece. In the afternoon of the same day, rain and local storms are expected in the west and continental areas.
On Thursday night, the phenomena will be more intense with a strong southerly, in the western island country. The rains will go further east.
On Friday (01/03) the rains will remain in Western Greece and will affect it as well Attica up to and including Thessaloniki.
These rains will also go further east. From the morning and midday hours of Friday, it will be more heavy rains between Peloponnese, Attica, the rest of Sterea and Epirus with some showers in the Cyclades and Crete.
The Saturday (02/03) unsettled rainy weather will remain from Eastern Macedonia to the eastern Aegean islands and scattered showers.
THE temperature it will drop slightly on Friday to 15 degrees but will rise again to 18 degrees at the weekend.
According to Sakis Arnautoglou, after March 5-6 something is going to change in the weather in Europe.
Colder air masses will descend on the Balkans on March 6 and in all likelihood from March 7 the weather will start to cool down.

For tomorrow Wednesday, the EMY predicts:
Sparse clouds in places and denser at times. Local rains will occur in the eastern mainland, the Cyclades and Crete.
Visibility in the morning and evening hours will be locally limited and fog will form in continental areas. Winds will blow east southeast 4 to 6 and in the Ionian region locally 7 to 8 Beaufort. The temperature will rise slightly in the west, where it will reach 21 degrees Celsius in places.
MACEDONIA, THRACE
Weather: Scattered clouds, denser in places. Local rains will occur in western and central Macedonia.
Winds: East southeast 3 to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 07 to 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia up to 15 degrees.
IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIROS, WEST STEREA, WEST PELOPONNISOS
Weather: Sparse clouds in places and denser at times.
Winds: East southeast 4 to 6 and gradually to Ionian 7 and locally 8 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 08 to 21 degrees Celsius. In the interior of Epirus 3 to 4 degrees lower.
CYCLADES, CRETE
Weather: Scattered clouds in places denser with local rains. Almost clear from the afternoon.
Winds: Southeast 4 to 5 and gradually 5 to 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 11 to 19 and in places in Crete up to 20 degrees Celsius.

For Thursday, February 29, it is planned:
In the eastern island country and Thrace a few clouds that will gradually increase. Clouds in the rest of the country increased in places with local rains that will intensify from the afternoon in the west and sporadic storms will occur. At night the effects in the Ionian will probably be strong.

The winds will blow east southeast, in the west 5 to 7 and locally in the Ionian 8 Beaufort, in the east 4 to 6 and in the southern seas from the afternoon 7 locally 8 Beaufort. The temperature will remain at high levels for the season and will reach 19 to 20 and in places 21 degrees Celsius.
For Friday March 1st:
In Thrace, the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese, clouds are forecast and from the afternoon local rains and gradually sporadic storms. In the rest of the country clouds with rain and sporadic storms possibly strong in places with a gradual improvement from the afternoon in the west. At night there will be rain again in the Ionian Islands.
Snowfall will occur in the northwestern mountains.
Meteorological conditions favor the transport of African dust mainly to the south. Winds will be west south southeast 3 to 5 and temporary early morning Ionian 6 to 7 Beaufort. In the east southeast 4 to 6 and in the southeast Aegean 7 local 8 Beaufort with weakening at night.
