‘Charitable work; Choose the right way to donate’

ABU DHABI – Authorities have advised not to approach restaurants and caterers to prepare iftar meals organized as part of charity work. The Abu Dhabi Community Development (DCD) Department has announced that charitable donations and the like can only be made through licensed institutions in Abu Dhabi.

Any institution collecting or accepting donations without obtaining a permit shall be liable to imprisonment of not less than one and a half lakh dirhams and not more than three lakh dirhams and a fine.
