Checo Pérez’s Inconsistent Season in Formula 1: The Criticism and Challenges

Sergio Pérez is still raining blows from all sides, due to his irregular season in Formula 1.

The Mexican pilot has not been able to distance himself from the criticism due to his season at Red Bull, where he has been exposed after his poor performances in the qualy’s.

Despite the fact that Pérez is second in the drivers’ championship, only behind his teammate Max Verstappen, the Mexican continues to be singled out for his lack of consistency, even with a car that many have considered a rocket.

This has caught the attention of former Australian driver Mark Webber, who assured that even he, at 46, could deliver better results than the Mexican.

“I think it’s pretty clear that qualifying is his (Checo’s) weakness at the moment.

“In racing, anyone can find that car, even I can, even as an old man as I am now. It has to deal with qualifying, it has to deal with mixed conditions and I think it can be fine, but at this level you have to perform in all conditions,” Webber said.

HORNER POINTED OUT A CZECH WEAKNESS!

Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez moved up nine positions in the British Grand Prix but that was not enough for the Mexican to get on the podium, as he stayed in sixth place at the Silverstone Circuit.

Despite not finishing in the first three places, the Mexican managed to stay ahead of Fernando Alonso and thus secure the runner-up spot in the drivers’ championship once again. After the race, Christian Horner, head of Red Bull, highlighted the work that Checo Pérez did but regretted that he had a bad participation in qualifying, where he already has five Grands Prix without reaching Q3.

“How do I evaluate your career today? I would say it was fantastic. His problem is that he should qualify better, so I’m sure that everything will be fine”, declared the head honcho of the Austrian team.
