When parents separate or divorce, one parent usually has to pay the other child support. The money goes to the parent with whom the child lives. The Düsseldorf table provides guidelines that can help to determine child support. This monthly payment is intended to cover the child’s ongoing and necessary living expenses. This includes the cost of housing, food, clothing, school supplies and toys.
