Childcare – Four-week holiday care from Lower Austria Family Land and WKNÖ

Family and Education Provincial Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister (ÖVP) and Lower Austria Chamber of Commerce President Wolfgang Ecker presented the new holiday care program of Lower Austria Family Land and WKNÖ today, Monday.

The holiday care offer lasts a total of four weeks. “It’s about four weeks in which we relieve the parents of worrying about what their children should do during this time,” says Teschl-Hofmeister. They are divided into two areas: the 100-year Lower Austria holiday week and the three-week Wifi Kids Academy.

80 workshops on offer

The holiday week will take place from July 18th to 22nd, 2022 in the premises of the WIFI St. Pölten. It offers childcare places for 160 children and young people between the ages of seven and 14. The offer for the children includes around 80 workshops. These include guided tours through the museum or company workshops, theater performances, movement units. You can also try your hand at acting or media jobs and get a taste of the world of business.

The workshops last from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm and the children get a warm lunch. The holiday week is free – the only requirement for families to register is that they have a Lower Austria family pass. Parents can register their children from May 8th.

Wifi Kids Academy in St. Pölten, Amstetten, Neunkirchen and Mödling

From the 4th week of July, the WiFi workshops continue: As part of the WiFi Kids Academy, children from eight to 14 years can get a taste of various professions, such as cooks, stonemasons, programmers or filmmakers. “As President of the Chamber of Commerce, I naturally wish that many children and young people would like to run their own companies and be ‘their own boss’,” said Ecker.

The Wifi St. Pölten starts from July 25th to August 5th. This year, a Kids Academy will also be offered at Wifi Amstetten from July 25th to 29th. From August 1st to 5th it will continue in Wifi Neunkirchen. The conclusion is the Kids-Academy in Wifi Mödling from August 8th to 12th. The fee of 30 euros per day includes meals and all work materials.

Wolfgang Stix, Managing Director of Styx Naturcosmetic, and Matthias Pacher, Managing Director of the Lower Austrian Museum, are two of the numerous partners of these care weeks. Both are looking forward to visiting numerous children and young people and completing workshops.
