Amazon has agreed to pay more than $30 million in a settlement with the US Federal Trade Commission over breaches of user privacy by its Alexa voice assistant and Ring security cameras.

She added that the US Federal Trade Commission filed a lawsuit against Amazon accusing “Ring” of mishandling videos belonging to its customers, and the settlement amounted to $ 5.8 million.

In one case, a Ring employee allegedly viewed thousands of videos of at least 81 different users from cameras rated for use in “intimate spaces” such as bedrooms, bathrooms and security cameras, according to the network.

The Commerce Commission alleged that, between June and August of 2017, an employee viewed video clips, often for at least an hour a day, on hundreds of occasions.

She added that the employee was male and only watched videos that included beautiful girls.

Amazon acquired Ring for $1 billion in 2018, and it has been affiliated with it since then.
