Additionally, Meteorological Warnings A236-4/2023 remain in force for normal to moderate wind with probability of sandstorms, until tonight, Wednesday, July 12, in the sectors of the coastal mountain range, foothills, salt flat foothills, and mountain range; and A248/2023, due to normal to moderate wind with probability of sandstorms on the coast of the region, between the afternoon of Wednesday, July 12, and the morning of Thursday, July 13.
In consideration of this background, and in coordination with the Regional Presidential Delegation of Antofagasta, the Regional Directorate of SENAPRED updates the Preventive Early Warning regional by wind, which is in force from July 5 and until conditions so warrant.
The update of this alert constitutes a state of reinforcement of surveillance, through the precise and rigorous monitoring of risk conditions and the respective vulnerabilities associated with the threat, coordinating and activating the National System for Prevention and Response to Disasters (SINAPRED). ) in order to act promptly in case of emergency situations.
SENAPRED recommends that the population stay in a safe place and avoid going out, unless absolutely necessary; find out about the weather conditions; and stay away from power lines, large trees, and billboards, as they could collapse due to the wind.
