China “resolutely opposes the US National Defense Authorization Act”

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly opposed the ‘2023 Fiscal Year National Defense Authorization Act’ signed by President Joe Biden.

In a statement released today (24th), the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “Despite China’s opposition, the United States passed the National Defense Authorization Act for the fiscal year 2023, which contains negative content related to China, and signed the bill.”

“China deplores and resolutely opposes these moves by the US,” he added.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the US National Defense Authorization Act contains a number of negative provisions that damage peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

“The United States must stop trying to subdue China using Taiwan, and stop neutralizing, deceiving, and distorting the ‘One China Principle.’”

Earlier, President Biden signed the National Defense Authorization Act yesterday (23rd) worth 858 billion dollars.

This year’s National Defense Authorization Act has allocated a significant portion of the budget to investments in the Indo-Pacific region to gain an edge in competition with China.

In a statement released yesterday, President Biden said, “This law provides important benefits and promotes access to justice for military personnel and their families, while providing significant powers to support the defense, foreign affairs and homeland security of the United States. There is,” he said.
