Washington: The United States says that China is trying to control the media in Pakistan. Apart from joining hands with Russia, China is trying to counter media reports once morest it, the US report said. It is also alleged that China has prepared a draft to start a media corridor with Pakistan. The State Department report alleged that China spends billions of dollars annually to ensure pro-Chinese news abroad. It is accused of spreading false or biased information to highlight China and the Chinese Communist Party.
Beijing is reportedly seeking to deepen cooperation with Pakistan, including under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) media forum. Initiatives such as the CPEC Rapid Response Information Network have been launched by Beijing and Islamabad. Recently, the US report also decided to launch the China-Pakistan Media Corridor (CPMC).
