China’s power generation rises 4% in first two months of 2022

Official data issued by the National Statistics Authority of China showed that the country’s power generation rose by 4% on an annual basis, to 1.31% trillion kilowatt-hours in the first two months of 2022, and this growth comes after an annual decline of 2.1% last December . According to Xinhua, thermal power generation rose 4.3 percent year on year, and hydropower production jumped 8.2 percent from last year.
Nuclear and solar power generation increased by 9.6% and 6.5%, respectively, while wind energy production decreased by 7.6%, according to the authority’s data.
