China’s road logistics price index recorded a monthly increase for the third consecutive month in September, amid improving market demand and supply, industry data showed.

The index stood at 102.9 last month, up 0.36 percent from August, according to a survey jointly conducted by the China Logistics and Purchasing Federation and Guangdong Lin’an Logistics Group.

Sub-indexes for all vehicle types saw moderate increases on a monthly basis. The subindex for truckload logistics, which mainly measures bulk goods and interregional transportation, climbed 0.36% to 103.1.

In September, market demand continued to recover, as China’s economic recovery accelerated. Demand also continued to recover as the vitality of market participants strengthened and extreme weather conditions dissipated, according to the survey.

The road transport market is expected to maintain a good recovery, while the freight price index is expected to fluctuate and rebound in the fourth quarter, the peak season for production and construction.
