The only road connected to the outside was cut off due to a landslide, and more than 200 people staying at Hailugou Glacier Forest Park were isolated.
In Luding County alone, 249 buildings including houses collapsed, 13,500 buildings were damaged, and 7 hydroelectric power plants were tentatively counted, but the damage is expected to increase further.

After a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Luding County, Ganzijiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, at 12:52 PM the day before, there were 10 aftershocks with a magnitude of 3.0 or greater until 6 am on the same day.
Sichuan Province sent 6,500 rescue teams to the area to help the victims.
