NEW YORK, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) — Chinese brand Jiuetsui on Sunday staged its fashion show at New York Fashion Week with inspiration from the blooming peony, a flower rooted in the East.

Taorai Wang, the brand’s creative director, also borrowed the color that was popular in China’s Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127) in developing her designs.

The show witnessed great praise on the catwalk of New York Fashion Week 2024, which runs from February 9 to 14.

Wang said it is exciting to incorporate the peony flower into every design in the new collection.

She added that China has a collection of beautiful objects that can attract audiences internationally along with dragons and phoenixes.

May Musk, the model who closed the show, said that everyone should travel back and forth between the United States and China much more than they do now.

Founded in 2001, Chinese brand Jiuetsui focuses on women’s fashion designs by drawing inspiration from oriental elements, especially the peony flower.
