The fifth generation Internet 2 network recently tested by the US could transfer up to 400 GB of data per second. The network was put into operation in July but was officially launched on Monday after various tests. The Beijing-Wuhan-Guangzhou network is part of China’s future Internet technology infrastructure. According to FITI project leader Wu Jianping from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the discovery also gives China a new technology to build an even faster internet.
