Chinese hackers attacked Britain’s Ministry of Defense 2024-05-07 09:06:48

“The Ministry of Defense (MoD) has acted flexibly by decommissioning the database. It’s a database managed not directly by the MoD,” Work and Pensions Secretary Mel Strid told Sky News.

Stride said Defense Secretary Grant Shapps will brief parliament later today on the matter, outlining a multi-pronged plan to support and protect personnel from cyber attacks.

Meanwhile, Poland’s secret services have detected and disabled wiretapping devices (bugs) in the room where a cabinet meeting will be held, as the press representative of the country’s intelligence coordinator said today.

The Polish government is expected to meet today in Katowice, located in the west of the country.

Poland is seen as a hub for collecting and shipping Western arms to Ukraine as Kiev fights back from the Russian invasion, while Polish authorities are on high alert for any signs of espionage activity.

“The State Protection Service in cooperation with the Internal Security Service identified and disabled devices that could be used to intercept conversations in the Cabinet meeting room in Katowice,” said a related post on the X social media platform.
