On Christmas Day, a 29-year-old Chinese man and three other holiday guests drove a rental car on a forest road towards Krippenstein. In order to be able to watch the sunrise from Krippenstein, they left before 6 a.m. However, the adventurous mountain journey ended after just a few meters, where they got stuck in the snow along a prepared ski slope.
Since all efforts to get the car back onto the forest road were unsuccessful, it took until 9.30 a.m. before the first skiers came by and discovered the holidaymakers in their predicament. They notified the operations manager and by joining forces the car was pushed back onto the forest road undamaged. A fine was imposed for violating the driving ban.
