The Rocamadour Festival offers two choral singing courses to discover the joy of singing along to music. Adapted to all levels of practice, the courses are of an extraordinary musical, human and cultural richness!
Every day, these beautiful programs are prepared in tutti with professional musicians, in the idyllic setting of the Grand Couvent de Gramat, near Rocamadour. By singing together daily, the choir matures very quickly humanly and musically, to lead at the end of the course to a concert within the framework of the Rocamadour Festival.
First course: from August 12 to 19, with the Ensemble la Sportelle
Jean-Philippe Billmann and Laetitia Corcelle of the Ensemble la Sportelle offer a program entitled “Hear my prayer”, built around the magnificent Höre mein Bitten by Mendelssohn, a great motet for soprano, choir and organ. Alongside this superb work will be placed Hear my prayer by Purcell, Prière du soir by Gounod, Pray for Peace by Poulenc, In prayer by Fauré and the prayer by Rocamadour, the Remember set to music by Christopher Gibert.

Second course: from August 19 to 26 with the Diabolus in Musica ensemble
This course invites you to discover a very great work, with a large professional ensemble: the Livret Vermeil de Montserrat with the Diabolus in Musica ensemble, an ensemble specializing in medieval music. The ten musical works of this manuscript from the end of the Middle Ages (14th century) will make you discover a new universe: the role of the voices, the function of the songs, their form (ballad, virelai, song), the notation of the fac- simulated, the instrumental accompaniment of fiddles, hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, harp and other percussion… Free concert on August 26 at 4 p.m. at the Saint-Sauveur Basilica in Rocamadour.
Interns enjoy some festival concerts free of charge for the duration of their internship.
