Al-Marsad newspaper: The Saudi child, Omar Al-Atwi, caught the attention of the famous British director “Robert”, to play the role of “Iyas bin Qabisa Al-Tai”, who was a military leader and one of the main faces of the war in the movie “Desert Warrior”.
Al-Atwi, who is 15 years old, said that he has been accustomed to dealing with camels since he was 7 years old, noting that he entered many camel competitions and achieved many gains.
And regarding his choice to play the role of Iyas Al-Tai, Al-Atwi stated that it was an unexpected thing and that he hesitated at first, but he found it special, so he agreed and started filming, which lasted for 4 months from morning to evening and trained him on the required tasks.
He pointed out: “I inherited the love of camels near them. Since my childhood, I have accompanied my father continuously in his work in the field of attack.”
He concluded, “I liked the character that I represented and read a lot regarding it to be able to master the role, while I would stop filming at the time of study and exams, and then return to filming.”
